Rare small golden brass sculpture, vintage African craftsmanship from the 60s-70s, Dahomey, Benin. Very nice attention to detail. Ring holder or offering dish, depicting a slender monkey with long legs and tail for support, holding in its outstretched arms a small fine oval dish with a decorated center. Maximum height 11.5cm, maximum width/depth 9cm, approximately 12cm in depth with the tail. Dish measures 8.5x6.5cm. Very good overall condition, with some minor signs of aging, small oxidations in particular, and manufacturing defects. Dish slightly tilted. Weighs approximately 450g.
