Rare rural turned wooden case, likely popular handcrafted production, late 19th – early 20th century circa 1880–1910, possibly intended to protect the nozzle of a beekeeper’s smoker during transport or storage, or to store another type of tool. Cylindrical body with turned grooves, conical lid pierced with an opening. Lid slightly darker. Maximum height 25cm, 19cm without lid, 9.5cm diameter. Very good condition, patina of use, sound wood, uniform wear, clean non-varnished interior as well. Lid a bit hard to open/close. Ancient agricultural or utilitarian object, ideal for collection or rustic decor. Approximately 300-500g.
