Description

White wooden library staircase, composed of 4 steps and a handrail on the left.
Very graphic, it has been completely cleaned, and left unfinished to leave all freedom to the future buyer, possibility of oiling it, waxing it, painting it or leaving it raw for its natural and authentic side.
Assembled with mortise tenons, doweled and nailed, it is solid and stable. An old repair with reinforcement is visible on the rear upright of the ramp, and a rear leg has been reamed.

We can find this model of stepladder in numerous paintings in artists' studios, as illustrated in the last photo: "a restoration" by Edouard Dantan, from 1891, where there is a balustraded staircase which allowed the sculptor to to have your model at the desired height.
