Cat signed Charles Virion (1865-1946) cracked Art Deco Cubisant 1930 Spectacular H6362 This very stylized cat is authentic and old, it bears the signature Charles Virion (Charles Louis Eugène Virion). It responds perfectly to the Art Deco period. Charles Virion was a student of Charles Gauthier and Jean-Paul Aubé at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. After having learned artistic pottery in Choisy-le-Roi, Charles Virion settled in 1889 in Montigny-sur-Loing where he became a decorator, medalist, sculptor and animal painter. Works by Charles Virion are kept in Paris at the Musée d'Orsay and at the Museum of Fauna and Flora Art in Jackson Hole in Wyoming in the United States. For the state, note a crack glued on the back, other cracks on the foot, small enamel jumps, however it remains in an acceptable general state.
