They have their original case with the Gallia Paris marking stamped with gilded iron. These animal knife holders date from the 1930s, they are in silver metal. There are six different animals that vary in size, pig, bird, bear, lion, dog and cat. Edouard-Marcel Sandoz (1881-1971) Swiss figurist and animal sculptor and watercolor painter. Sandoz is best known for its many porcelain boxes, bottles, carafes, tea and coffee sets. He works with various materials, marble, bronze, ceramics. Its style owes a lot to Art Nouveau. He is particularly interested in animal sculpture, especially fennec foxes and rabbits, of which he has made numerous representations. For the condition of the objects, note wear and friction on the box, some traces of wear and some micro-scratches on the subjects which are in generally good condition.
